Construction of the railway track from Matara to Beliatta
Introduction
This is the phase one of Matara-Kataragama railway line construction project. Construction work of the 26.75 Km long railway track was started on 01.08.2013 by a construction company with an estimated cost of $278.2. Under this project :
- 09 bridges including 03 major bridges
- 02 railway tunnels
- 05 railway stations
- 21 railway crossings
will be constructed.
