1. What is the difference between "Semi Luxury" and "Norma" service besides the higher fare of "Semi Luxury" service?
"Semi Luxury" service is not allowed standing passengers and only seated passengers should be transported and can't stop each and every halt like normal service, so limited stopping have been allowed to minimize the travel time.
2. How to identify "Semi Luxury" service bus before get in the bus?
"Semi Luxury" service can be identified by the "Blue" colour Origin-Destination sticker on the front, back and left sides of the bus.
3. How to get a bus service for a certain route?
After appeal for a bus service, the certain route is to be surveyed to collect information regarding passenger demand, route length, etc and if the commission satisfy with the result of the survey a tender is called to select a person to grant a route permit.
4. Should complainer definitely participate in the investigation?
Yes, because without complainers evidence a real action can not be taken and victims statements has to be accepted without objections. Therefore both parties should be definitely participated.

1. Can I carry firearms/weapons & ammunition on board an aircraft and how can I obtain the approval ?
i Yes. You can only in the cargo hold and you are required to obtain a written approval from Director General, Civil Aviation Authority .
ii. You are required to submit a written request with relevant details/ documents to Director General, Civil Aviation Authority .
2. What are the required details/documents to be submitted?
Letter of approval from Ministry of Defence & Urban Development.
Flight Details :- Date, Time, Flight number and route
Details of the firearms/weapons & ammunition (serial numbers,quantity, type,make,caliber and other accessories).
3. How can I apply for an Air Operator Certificate (AOC)?
A dully filled application along with the applicable fee shall be forwarded to this office as per SLCAP 4100 Air Operator Certification manual.
4. How do I apply for permission to operate scheduled flights (passenger/Cargo) to and from Sri Lanka?
A duly filled application along with the applicable fee shall be forwarded to this office as per SLCAP 4105 Foreign Air Operator Certification manual in order to obtain Foreign Airline License (FAL) along with Foreign Air Operator Certificate (FAOC).
5. What is an Air Transport Providers {Passenger} License?
This is a legal Certificate the Authority issues in terms of the Air Navigation (special provisions) Act No.55 of 1992 and regulations made there under by the Director General of Civil Aviation to a prospective applicant who meets the necessary criteria for carrying on the business of air transportation in Sri Lanka.
6. Who can obtain visa recommendations?
All the technical and non-technical expatriates who are willing to work or are working for a foreign airline or a travel agency or any other aviation businee must obtain
visa from department of Immigration and emigration. To have such visa the applicant will have to submit a recommendation from the Civil Aviation Authority.
7. What is the procedure to request for approval from Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), to build a high rise structure?
The request should be submitted with the relevant documents to the address below.

- Architectural Building plan
- Area Map showing location

10. What are the requirements to apply for AML Examinations
Each applicant for this examination shall satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and practical training conducted at an Approved Basic Training Centre as applicable as specified in the paragraph 6 of ASN 083 published by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, at the time of submission of application.
An applicant who has completed approved basic training as per ASN 083 Para 6 with a course completion certificate can apply for the examination. Issuance of licence will be done after completing the required as per ASN 083 Para 6. Certified Work Sheets or book should be submitted as proof of experience at the time of issuing the licence together with the application for issuance of AML.
Names of the candidates permitted to sit the exam will be published in the website of CAASL (www.caa.lk) one month prior to the examination.
